Two very good men that I know, Grandpa Faust and Roger VanDeheede, are both battling with their health.
Grandpa Faust has been taken to Peoria, Illinois, to further examine bleeding on his brain. From what I've heard, preliminary diagnosis is good, and it may not take surgery to repair.
The Fausts, Brickners, and other extended family are great people. I have been friends with Mike Faust and Doug Brickner my entire life. Their families are all awesome. I have been to many family gatherings and holiday parties with them. If the world had more Fausts and Brickners, it would be a much better place. Grandpa Faust espeically is a great guy. He is always quick with a handshake and asks how my family is doing.
Roger VanDeheede is the grandfather of another childhood friend, Jacob VanDeheede. Roger is in the process of recovering from gullain barre which is a disorder that attacks one's nervous system. I remember Roger always bringing all of us kids Whitey's Ice Cream malts at Seton School. He, too, is an outstanding guy. One of Roger's sons, Jim, and his wife Lynn, were teachers at my high school. Jim was my health teacher and Mrs. V was my guidence counselor--both very awesome people as well.
It is sad that bad things happen to such good people. Undoubtedly, the strength of both families with pull them through these trying times. I wish both of you a very speedy recovery. You are in the thoughts and prayers of many.
A handshake and Whitey's malt to the both of you!
